Gasque and banquets
Gasque and banquets
The nation has for a long time been a student home away from home, or once living room. As a living room it sometimes is filled with guests for a party or to celebrate something special… And sometimes just because we want to. At the nation these bigger parties are called a gasque or ball. During a gasque or ball the rest of the nation’s activities are closed, and the nation invites to a larger dinner in true student fashion with entertainment and a following släpp. A släpp is another word for after party and the house transform from a dinner to a night club. During the släpp everyone is welcome to attend even if you haven’t been at the dinner.
How do I attend a gasque?
Before you attend a gasque you need to know that you have a seat reserved. Tickets are often sold a couple of weeks before the event. Ticket releases are to be found at the nations social media or at nationsguiden.se. Tickets are sold firstly to office-holders at the nation, then members and lastly to everyone else. Balls are more formal and you will be given the opportunity to buy a ticket for yourselves and someone you want to attend with.
When you finally have arrived you might want to know what is expected from you. Read more about that under Gasque etiquette.
